Maola Milk Named Official Milk of Popular Virginia Universities
Herndon, VA – Maola Milk has been named the Official Milk of the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Rams and James Madison University (JMU) Dukes. Maola Milk is proudly owned and operated by Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association (MDVA). As the Official Milk of JMU and VCU, student athletes will now refuel with the local, sustainable choice for milk in Virginia.
“Maola Milk is thrilled to be named the Official Milk for the VCU Rams and JMU Dukes,” said Lindsay Reames, Executive Vice President of Sustainability & External Relations at MDVA. “The local fan base of these two teams fully aligns with our local sustainable dairy farm story and will engrain the importance of dairy to students, athletes, and fans alike. We are proud to be a Virginia-based dairy company investing in the sports nutrition of our local collegiate athletes.”
The partnership will also help to reinforce Maola’s positioning as the local, sustainable dairy brand for local Virginians by raising brand awareness and driving credibility through the “Official Milk” designation, with a comprehensive marketing campaign that will feature Maola courtside, online, at schools, and in partnership with JMU and VCU athletes.
According to studies, milk is one of the best beverages for pre- and post-workout hydration – even better than water. This is due to milk’s natural electrolytes, proteins, and carbohydrates. Additionally, milk includes whey protein, which helps send a signal to your body that you are getting the hydration you need, as well as carbohydrates — another essential nutrient that provides the primary source of energy in milk. Beyond hydration, milk does not spike your blood sugar and delivers a powerful combination of 13 essential nutrients that aid muscle repair and support immune health such as vitamins A, D, and B12. It is also rich in calcium, which helps build and maintain strong teeth and bones.
