MDVA Executive Appointed to EPA Farm Advisory Committee

Lindsay Reames

Reston, VA – Lindsay Reames, Executive Vice President of Sustainability & External Relations at Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association (MDVA) has been appointed to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Farm, Ranch, and Rural Communities Federal Advisory Committee. The committee advises the EPA Administrator on a range of environmental issues that are of importance to agriculture and rural communities. Members of the committee range from academia, industry, non-governmental organizations, and various levels of government.

“Lindsay has led groundbreaking sustainability efforts that have resulted in the investment of more than $45 million in agriculture best management practices on our member dairy farms,” said Jay Bryant, CEO of MDVA. “Her position on this committee will help bring perspective on how working with, not against, farmers can help deliver environmental solutions to our farming communities.”

Most recently the committee has been charged with how the EPA’s policies and programs can advance agriculture’s climate mitigation and adaptation goals.

“It’s an honor to serve alongside a diverse group of individuals to advance the farming community,” Lindsay Reames said. “The experience of serving on EPA’s FRRC advisory committee will bring new tools back to Maryland & Virginia’s dairy community to expedite our goal of greenhouse gas neutrality by 2050.”

MDVA’s approach to sustainability has received the 2022 award for Outstanding Community Impact and the 2020 Outstanding Supply Chain Collaboration Award by the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy. Click here to learn more about our sustainability commitment.
